If you are an incoming Bellarmine High School Freshman, please consider joining me in this class that is designed to help you successfully start your BCP academic career.
Week 1-2: Bellarmine Prep
This course is for incoming Bellarmine Freshmen only. The Bellarmine Prep Camp offers the opportunity for new Bellarmine students to get to know their new classmates, campus, and community. In a two-week camp, incoming freshmen will engage in activities, discussions, and other experiences that will help them to be prepared, confident, and eager for day one at Bellarmine.
The camp is supported by four pillars: Ignatian identity, study skills, tech mastery, and health and wellness. Students will explore the significance of becoming a man for and with others through service, spiritual activities, and engaging with their future Bellarmine brothers. They will have an opportunity to get familiar with classroom technologies like Canvas, our learning management system, as well as the Microsoft Surface Pro, which will help them to be organized and ready for class on their first day. Students will also discuss ways in which they can moderate their own use of technology and know when it is time to put it away. Study skills and learning strategies will be incorporated in the camp, in order to give students the tools they need to be successful in each of their classes. They will learn habits to empower them to remain healthy and balanced during their time at school. They will explore their important role in developing and strengthening the Bellarmine community by sharing what they learn through their gifts and talents. Lastly, through the fun, and reflective nature of the camp, they will form relationships with their new classmates. The experiences they share with their new classmates will help them to feel more comfortable, excited, and empowered to begin high school at Bellarmine.
If you are in the San Jose Bay area, consider joining me for Bellarmine’s 1-week Study Skills class where you will cover many of the tools and exercises that I use with my private clients.

Building on this latest research, students will work on developing personalized routines, tools, and skills so they can be prepared for their best semester ever AND still have a life.
Topics to be covered in developing their personalized study blueprint will include assessing their habit tendencies and core motivation style. The course will also cover retrieval-based learning tools, time management strategies, and procrastination-busting tips.
